I did not take many photo’s in the 70’s while teaching at Okehampton School but here is one of the old “Annexe” in Crediton Road where my first classroom was in this block …. from left to right the Staffroom, room A1 (Me) , the entrance/cloakroom, room A2 (Mrs Morse).  Albert Hawke

Gosh thank you for posting this Mr Hawke – I can very clearly recall being out the front at break times and it’s a shame really because the cosyness and acoustics of these types of classrooms felt everso sort of intimate; I looked earlier at Willy Pike’s shop – such a very kind man particularly when selling Players No.6 cigarettes to us; Yes, he’d sell us a single ciggy if required and he’d indicate if a teacher came in behind and not drop us in it – I can still see and admire him in my mind now….
