In this 1910 picture the London Hotel is certainly looking to the future! Webber and Sons are advertising as a “Posting House” but at the same time the sign over the main door indicates over 2,500 square feet of garage space is available. In the foreground is their magnificent four-in-hand with Ernest Webber holding the reins. He was a familiar figure around the area as well as behind the bar. Ernest was an accomplished horseman and as Marshall lead the carnival for many years. His father, known affectionately as “Grandad” Webber, is standing below his son at the front of the coach.
