Patrick Caseley’s picture of Mr Blackmore

Sometime in the 60s I went up to Meldon Quarry to photograph the old steam engine before it was taken away. I was also able to photograph Mr Blackmore who used to drive it. He was sitting in the cab of his new diesel. I asked him how he liked it. He said ‘Well, tid’n the same, but you do go home with shiny boots’.
